Custom Metal Parts
The part families we make most often – with the material, tolerance and finish each one is normally quoted at.
Direct answer: we produce custom metal parts in six part families: copper busbars, battery cell connectors, terminals and contacts, sheet metal brackets, heat sinks and EMI shielding covers. Every part is made to your drawing – there is no catalogue and no minimum orderable part number. Prototypes run from 1 piece, serial orders from hundreds to millions depending on the process.
Part families
Copper busbars
Flat, stepped, laminated and insulated busbars in C11000 or C18150, silver, nickel or tin plated.
Battery cell connectors
Cell connectors, module links and busbar assemblies with defined contact faces.
Terminals and contacts
Crimp, screw and spring terminals, contact plates and pins in copper and brass.
Sheet metal brackets
Mounting brackets, reinforcement plates and clips, laser cut and formed.
Heat sinks
Extruded, machined and bonded heat sinks and thermal plates in aluminium and copper.
EMI shielding covers
Shielding covers, cans and frames in nickel silver, copper alloy or plated steel.
How a part family is quoted
The part family tells you what we normally hold and which process route is likely; it does not decide the price. The price comes from geometry, material, tolerance, finish, volume and documentation. Two parts in the same family can differ threefold in unit price for that reason.
1. Drawing review
We check the part against the process route for its family and flag anything that cannot be held economically.
2. Route and tooling
The route is fixed: cut and form, stamp with a die, machine from stock, cast and machine, then finish. Tooling is quoted separately and owned by you.
3. Sample and approval
A sample is measured to the drawing and reported before the batch runs.
4. Serial production
Batches run with in-process checks; the inspection plan for the family is applied from the first batch.
Not seeing your part?
These six families cover most of what we ship, but they are not a limit. If your part is a machined housing, a deep drawn cup, a welded frame or a plated stamping, send the drawing – the route is decided by the drawing, and the family is only a label for navigation.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
There is no fixed MOQ for machined and laser cut parts – one piece is possible for a prototype. Stamped parts need a die, so the economic minimum is set by the tooling cost rather than by a rule; we state both in the quotation so you can judge.
Can you supply the same part in several variants?
Yes. Variants that differ only by plating, marking or a small dimensional change are quoted as one part with variant pricing, which keeps tooling shared and inspection comparable.
Do you make assemblies?
Sub-assemblies are built in house where the parts are made here – plated busbar assemblies, welded frames, enclosures with hardware installed. Bought-in commercial components are identified in the quotation.
Send the drawing for the part family you need
A STEP file plus a 2D drawing with tolerances, material, finish and annual volume is enough to quote. DFM feedback comes back with the price.
